After the establishment of the Czech Republic in 1993, the Czech National Bank returned to issuing silver coins, the minting of these commemorative coins started already in 1993, they are minted coins with a nominal value of 200 CZK and less than 500 CZK. The first issued coin was the 1st anniversary of the approval of the Constitution of the Czech Republic issued in 1993. The coins are minted both in the top quality PROOF with a smooth edge, and also in the ordinary quality called STANDARD with a serrated edge. Pure silver is used 925/1000, coins with a nominal value of 200 CZK weigh 13 g and have a diameter of 31 mm, coins with a nominal value of 500 CZK weigh 25 g and have a diameter of 40 mm. Coins are accompanied by a collector's card, a so-called certificate with an image of the coin and a detailed description, the card is required by the collector and its loss reduces the coin's collectible value. Coins for ČNB are minted by Czech Mint, in addition to a few initial mintings abroad. The trend of recent years is also high-weight coins, bimetallic coins, or colored, plated or hologram coins, such as enabled by current coinage technologies.
