After the end of II. World War II, the Czechoslovak National Bank returned to issuing commemorative silver coins. The minting of these commemorative coins started already in 1947, coins with a nominal value of 10 CZK, 20 CZK, 25 CZK, 50 CZK, 100 CZK and 500 CZK are minted. The first issued coin was the 3rd anniversary of the SNP issued in 1947. The coins are minted in standard quality called STANDARD with a smooth edge with a frieze or inscription. 500/1000 fine silver is used, most of the coins were minted at the Kremnice mint. Coins bear various motifs of important personalities and anniversaries, often paying tribute to the time of creation and political arrangement.
